The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has ruled that a paid-for Facebook ad for AI Scorecast, a service run by HRY Games, was misleading and irresponsible.
What the ad claimed
The ad appeared on Facebook in April 2026 and was picked up by the ASA's AI-based Active Ad Monitoring system. It showed a man in a football shirt, while a voiceover claimed the product could predict outcomes in advance with 97% accuracy.
Why the ASA objected
The regulator found that the ad suggested users could make informed gambling decisions and turn a profit, without giving any information about the risks involved or the chance of losing money.
AI Scorecast did not respond to the ASA's enquiries. The watchdog said it was concerned by this lack of response and the company's apparent disregard for the CAP Code.
Outcome
The ad must not appear again in its current form, and the case has been referred to the Committee of Advertising Practice's compliance team. Last month, the ASA also banned a TikTok ad linked to Midnite that featured an AI-generated character who appeared to be under 25.
